Provide primary accounting support for the company's inventory management and retail operations functions while also working with the Controller and other members of the Accounting team to support the company's overall operations.  Also provide supervision of the company's accounts payable function.

Major Areas of Accountability:


  • Works with the Controller and other members of the Accounting team to ensure the integrity and timeliness of accounting reports and other financial information. This includes monthly closing, financial report preparation, balance sheet management and reviewing general ledger related transactions.
  • Prepares various sales and inventory reports by summarizing information and analyzing trends.
  • Works closely with Merchandising group to manage and properly account for vendor incentives, including rebates, coop advertising reimbursements, allowances, discounts, etc.
  • Interfaces with other departments to provide financial support to develop process improvements and assists in new project design and implementation.
  • Works closely with operations to achieve effective inventory management and controls.
  • Assists with annual budget preparation process as needed.
  • Prepares year-end audit schedules and account reconciliations and provides explanations as needed.
  • Assist the Controller and CFO with ad hoc analyses as requested.


  • Acts as point of contact for the retail operations team and store personnel for accounting issues.
  • Coordinates with retail operations team to develop and maintain effective internal audit policies and procedures for retail stores.
  • Maintains retail rent schedules for payment to landlords in compliance with signed lease agreements. This includes calculating percentage rent due and monthly sales reporting.


Requirements for Position:

  • Supervises the accounts payable staff ensuring the team provides a high level of service and support to the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of overall accounting experience.
  • Highly organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience working with retail companies preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience writing and/or using SQL queries a plus.
