Responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance and performance of Rockler's data base management systems while ensuring the availability and consistent performance of its Enterprise Resource Planning system.   Oversees the development and administration of the company's Enterprise level business intelligence environment in working with power users in making data readily available for future reporting purposes while also preserving the environment's data integrity.

DUTIES

  • Performs daily systems administrative duties, including but not limited to error monitoring, storage management, processor utilization and data integrity validation on Enterprise Resource Planning and Data Warehouse databases.
  • Proficient with MS SQL Server Backup and Recovery procedures including point in time and point of failure recovery.
  • Demonstrated MS SQL Server Clustering and DB Replication.
  • Adeptness in Enterprise data modeling.
  • Worked on supporting and implementing cubes.t
  • Familiar with MS SQL Server Database linking to non-SQL server data sources.
  • Designs, programs and implements resilient ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) procedures.
  • Develops technical and procedural documentation for related systems and applications.
  • Contributes in the development and implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Test plans annually to ensure they are current and effective as business evolves.
  • Establishes and maintains documentation procedures for area of responsibilities to be shared with your Systems Manager serving as your backup.
  • Enhances information results by constantly re-evaluating and defining new cost-effective solutions for optimizing day-to-day activities.
  • Works with the development team to support application database changes, normalizes data based on business requirements.
  • Setting up and migrating relational DBMS into Development, Test and Production environment.
  • Promotes customer relationship and proactively fosters effective communication. Anticipates client needs in building client satisfaction related to the services being provided.  Supports the relationship with data governance committee in establishing standards, common business rules, and tool best practices.
  • Mentors and coaches powers users on accessing and using reporting tools. Supplements support by providing on the job training as needed.
  • Assesses data requirements for requested client reporting needs, gathers data from internal and external data sources, organizes and presents data in a format that fits client needs from a requirements, performance, and frequency standpoint.
  • Logs and resolves all assigned work orders in compliance to department service level agreements.
  • Manages and controls user data requests to comply with IT department policies.
  • Designs and implements data controls in preserving the integrity and security of mission critical data assets pertaining to PCI and GDPR regulations.
  • Works closely with vendors and other suppliers of information system related products and services to implement data services that help solve business and support issues.
  • Analyzes the impact of system maintenance and upgrades. Implements appropriate implementation plans.
  • Coordinates work activities with other technical staff and users to maintain maximum system performance and availability.
  • Participates in Help Desk duties, working to resolve problems reported to IT Department in accordance to SLA's.
  • Provides on-call coverage for systems during non-business hours.
  • Provides good customer service to phone calls or emails, to include frequent follow-up and status updates on open issues while adhering to department Service Level Agreements. I.e. First Time Response, Frequency of Status Updates and Problem Resolution Duration.
  • Performs all duties in a manner which meets company performance and behavior expectations.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy working environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards, adhering to legal and safety regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Continues to learn, with increasing depth, more sophisticated technological tools and techniques that will aid and better position Company in its day-to-day operation. Attends educational workshops, reviews professional publications, and participates in professional societies to establish personal network and benchmark state-of-the-art practices.
  • Attendance is an essential function of this position and we rely on all our employees to be at work during their scheduled shift.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science and/or 5+ years of experience with data warehousing and overseeing the production of database management systems.
  • MS SQL database administration experience.
  • Familiar with MS SQL Tuning, Optimization, Prediction, and Analytics.
  • Exercises good judgment when applying business and procedural knowledge in a complex environment.
  • Knowledge of SSMS (SQL Management Studio), DTA (Database Tuning Tool), SSRS (SQL Reporting Tool), SSIS (SQL Integration Tool), and SSAS (Server Analysis Services).
  • Familiar minimally with Windows 2008-2012 R2 (or higher) operating systems, MS SQL Server 2008-2012 R2 (or higher) database administration.
  • Experienced in working with Tableau as BI reporting engine.
  • Knowledge of Power BI and Microsoft Dynamic AX a plus.
  • Adept process management, project management, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Displays a high degree of motivation, dedication, and team orientation.
  • Sound verbal/written communication skills with strong customer focus.
  • Experience in multi-channel retailing and/or supply change management a plus.
  • Displays high level of attention to detail specifically as it relates to security, system availability, and technical support service level agreements.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and regularly meets all deadlines. Demonstrates willingness to go beyond the normal call of duty.
  • Fully understands the value of providing the highest standard of customer service.
